WREN’s Guide to Summer 2017 in DTLA
Summertime in LA is always spectacular, and this year is certainly no exception! Since WREN’s DTLA apartments are in the heart of DTLA’s thriving and exciting culture, we are in the know of the best summer activities that the City has to offer. We have put together a list that we’re sure will inspire you and yours to go out and about on the town. After all, it would be a crying shame to keep yourself cooped up inside when there are so many amazing events going on in DTLA!

The FIGat7th shopping center happens to be one of the many awesome shopping spots that are just minutes from our DTLA apartments, so we know it well. From July 15 to August 19, FIGat7th turns into a venue for DJs as well Americana, alternative, pop and rock musicians. The event completely free and is held every Friday night from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
2. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Flea Market

The Rock ‘N’ Roll Flea Market happens on the first Sunday of each month. For just $2, visitors can hit up Regent Theater to sift through curated collections of antiques, clothing, memorabilia, hand-crafted jewelry, and much more. There are also collections of food vendors and trucks so feel free to work up an appetite while rummaging.
3. Lunchtime Concerts

The Lunchtime Concerts series is one of the reasons why we love that Pershing Square is under a mile from our DTLA apartments. During the period of July 12 to August 16, the Park is home to great live music in the middle of the day. Every Wednesday at noon, DTLA-ers can enjoy various genres of music while chowing down on fare from food trucks and the Pershing Square Farmer’s Market.
4. Drag Queen Bingo: Live!

This is NOT your Grandma’s bingo! On July 7 at 8 p.m. DTLA-ers can enjoy a little friendly competition and a lot of fun at Drag Queen Bingo: Live!, which is a free event held at Grand Central Market. (Lucky for WREN residents, the Market is a 5-minute drive from their DTLA apartments!)
5. Art Walk Downtown Los Angeles

ShopWalk is a sister event to the Art Walk. On the first Sunday of every month, dozens of local businesses participate in a pop-up market set up in the Historic Core. ShopWalk allows DTLA-ers to take advantage of special discounts, promotions, and happy hours.

The Dance DTLA series occurs from June to September in Grand Park, which is just a couple of miles from WREN’s DTLA apartments. Two events are held on alternating Fridays: From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., Dance Downtown encourages participants to learn dance moves under the night stars; starting at 9 p.m., DJ Nights provides a 3-hour set of expertly chosen tunes that DTLA-ers can move and shake to.
9. The Pterosaurs Exhibit

The Central Library is not only the third largest library in the U.S., it’s also a historic landmark and architectural marvel. The Library is open for walk-in and self-guided tours every day, so make sure to make some time for appreciating an important part of LA culture and history.
At WREN, we’re all about keeping people linked to their community. It’s one of the reasons why we often curate the best City experiences for DTLA-ers here in our blogs!
Our residents see WREN as more than just DTLA apartments – they see it as a way of life. When all the day-to-day living details are taken care of, people can focus on themselves and what’s truly important to them.
For example, keeping a healthy mind and body is easy with our fully-equipped private fitness center. Also, the business center and executive conference room provide working space for stay-at-home professionals or tenants who just need more room to create. Plus, other social spaces such as the resident club and game lounge, lobby areas, onsite restaurant, and private park not only give residents a change of scenery when they want it, but also what they need to build relationships and stay connected.
