We know you and 2017 have been through a lot together but it’s come time to say goodbye. There’s no reason to feel sad. In fact, we think you should celebrate harder than you’ve ever celebrated before. Luckily, living in the City of Angels makes it possible to ring in a new year right. While there is certainly no shortage of killer ways to experience NYE in DTLA, not all of them are created equal. Bootie LA New Year’s Eve 2018 ($20+)

Leave it to professional party throwers to put on an amazing NYE celebration. Bootie has been hosting mashup dance parties for nearly 15 years. At 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Bootie Mashup will be taking over the Resident in the Arts District. There will be DJs, dance crew performances, a champagne toast, and even free mashup CDs.
N.Y.E.L.A at Grand Park (Free)

If you want to spend NYE in DTLA with thousands of other party-going Angelenos, make your way to the gorgeous Grand Park at 8 p.m. N.Y.E.L.A. will feature live music, dancing, food, photo booths, and a countdown to midnight projected onto a wall of City Hall. One thing to note: No alcohol will be allowed on the premises.
Prohibition NYE ($175)

How would you like to countdown to the new year like they did during the prohibition era (minus the drinks being illegal, of course)? Starting at 9 p.m., Prohibition NYE fills the Ticket Concourse at Union Station with DTLA-ers dressed in their finest 1920s garb. You won’t believe what a ticket gets you:
- Open bar (beer, champagne, and signature cocktails)
- Burlesque show
- Live jazz
- DJ set
There’s even a 60-foot ball drop at midnight. It’s a delightful and modernly classic way to enjoy NYE in DTLA!
Dita Von Teese’s NYE Gala ($49.50 to $225))

Yes, that’s right. You can spend New Year’s Eve with a world-famous burlesque performer. Join Dita Von Teese as she hosts a dazzling two-hour variety show. There will also be the opportunity to meet Ms. Von Teese as well as check out her impressive wardrobe. All the adult-themed fun will happen at The Theatre at Ace Hotel with the doors opening at 9 p.m.
No Cover New Years at Angel City (Free)

Beers, and tacos, and dumplings! Oh, my! Angel City Brewery will be hosting No Cover New Years, a malty, sudsy, laid-back kind of way to experience the new year. Live music doesn’t begin until 8 p.m., but you can start imbibing at 12 p.m. Just don’t overdo it — you don’t want to miss the champagne ale toast at midnight.
