It’s no secret that getting around the city usually tops the lists of concerns for people who are on the hunt for DTLA apartments. It’s understandable since Los Angeles just so happens to be the second most populated city in the United States, and getting from point A to point B can sometimes be a pretty involved endeavor. But, we at WREN are here to put those concerns to rest. Because of our central location, we’ve cracked the code on how to easily commute through DTLA!
Commuter Express 431 and 437
The Commuter Express program is an incredibly convenient and quick way to get to and from downtown and other major LA spots. A Commuter Express bus limits the number of stops it makes so you have more of a straight shot to your destination. Two popular routes are just a few minutes from WREN’s DTLA apartments. Route 437 runs between downtown and Culver City and is easily accessed on Grand and Pico. The 431 stop is on Venice and Grand and runs from downtown to Palms.
Santa Monica Expo Line
The Santa Monica Expo Line is a new light rail system that allows you to get from DTLA out to Santa Monica in under an hour! If an hour commute from DTLA to Santa Monica sounds like a long time then you’re obviously not from LA. During rush hour, this drive can sometimes take up to two hours. A public transportation service that can get out to the Santa Monica Pier in under an hour has long been awaited, and residents of DTLA are thrilled that they can finally ride the Santa Monica Expo Line.
7th Street/Metro Center
The LA County Metro Rail System consists of two subway lines and four light rail lines. The Blue, Red and Purple lines are all served from the 7th Street/Metro Center Station in the Financial District. The Blue Line is a light rail route, while the Red and Purple are both subway routes. The Blue Line runs between DTLA and Long Beach, the Red Line goes from downtown to North Hollywood, and the Purple Line runs between downtown and Koreatown. Our DTLA apartments are just 10 minutes from the 7th Street/Metro Center Station!
The DASH bus service is a great way to make your way through the various downtown neighborhoods. The purpose of the program is to provide a more localized bus service. Buses mainly serve their own individual neighborhoods but will feed into other major transportation services like the Metrolink and Metro Rail System. There are several DTLA routes to choose from:
- Little Tokyo/City West,
- Chinatown/Financial District
- Union Station/South Park
- City West/Fashion District
- Financial District/Exposition Park/USC
Many of the DASH stops are less than a 10-minute walk from WREN’s DTLA apartments including Hill and Pico, Olive and Pico, Los Angeles and 12th, and Figueroa and Pico.
At WREN, we listen to what matters most to our residents. We make sure they have everything they need to feel productive and fulfilled. We can do this for you as well! A location that’ll make your commute a breeze is the tip of the iceberg at WREN.
